University Materials Acquisition Procedures

Committees
Mail from any University of Idaho committee, such as Financial Aid Committee minutes, goes with their related accessions in the cages or are to be processed into the appropriate UG.
School of Music
The School of Music occasionally sends us music programs. They are added to UI CLASS VF. As a temporary measure, give these materials to Kelley for processing until VF procedures are complete. Previous years are cataloged through 2006-2007; see Idaho ML 42. MG 67 U55. - Eventually, all materials will likely be added to the Idaho Book collection.
University/Extension Publications
Each college had its own series of publications (Ag Extension, CALS, CNR, Forestry, Mines, general University)
- The most common series is “bulletin”, so each one of those colleges has its own bulletin series.
If this kind of publication arrives, give the items to Kelley. There is no master list of each of these titles or series, nor of individual publications, but Kelley is refining a list and will distribute when ready.

- As of 02-19-2026, there are multiple publications related to Extension Publishing. Eve Gentry, who worked in CALS publishing for a couple of years, was trying to make a list to reconcile their holdings with Library holdings. She sent Spec boxes of publications based on what she thought we needed to fill the gaps.
Extension/University Publications are very hit and miss in the catalog (ALMA/Primo).
- Some are cataloged at the series level and the item level, giving them multiple records
- If any series changed names even slightly, a new catalog record was created
- Some are only cataloged at the individual title level, and might or might not include which series they are a part of
Individual publications can be within multiple series (e.g. Bulletin and Contribution Number)
