Collection QC

Once a new collection has been submitted for review, the Digital Projects Manager and Digital Initiatives Librarian will prep it for publishing on the web and Quality Control review:

Once the new collection is online (but unlisted), share the link and blurb out to DC team with a one week timeline for testing and feedback. Each DC Team member should take some time to review the collection. Having a handful of fresh eyes on a website will discover most issues and improve the content. It also gives the team an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new resource.

Feedback form.

Publish Collection

  • Fix any issues, editing, or ideas that come up from DC-QC.
  • Add to Search Sources, opt into central-search, and redeploy.
  • Add to collection master list, update “digital_home” and redeploy (to publish to Collection Browse).
  • Update entry on the Digital Collection Tracking spreadsheet, moving collection from “current” to “finished” tab, and ensuring all information is recorded. Record launch date so that we can check on analytics for referrers and spike in use.

With everything ready, follow up with the Launch Checklist to officially “publish” the collection.
