Crater Lake is a caldera lake in southern Oregon. The lake is famous for its deep blue color and clear water and fills a 2,148 foot deep crater that was formed about 7,700 years ago by the collapse of Mount Mazama, a volcano. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States.
