A photograph of ‘Fats’ Waller at a piano, most likely in the 1940s. Fats Waller was an influential jazz pianist and singer whose innovative works were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame posthumously, in 1984 and 1999. Waller died in 1943 at the age of 39.
