Art and Architecture South hasn’t always been named such. 

Prior to 1928, the building served as the general gymnasium for the University. After the completion of Memorial Gymnasium, it was used as the Women’s Gymnasium. While it isn’t covered in snow as picturesquely today as it was in 1929, it still serves as a reminder of how campus is ever changing.
