The small mining town of Roosevelt, Idaho was buried under a what is now Roosevelt Lake near McCall, Idaho. A mudslide had blocked Monumental Creek so effectively that the creek began to flood and drown the small town. Legend has it that if the water is clear you can still see the outlines of buildings at the bottom of the lake.
